Yard of the Month

The Highland Park Neighborhood Association and the Physical Improvements Team have created a Yard of the Month (YOM) program to reward neighborhood residents who demonstrate exemplary efforts to maintain their home and landscape.

YOM is awarded April through August, October (for fall décor and foliage), and December (for holiday lights and decorating). Candidates are judged on the total appearance of their exterior property and front yard, as viewed from the street. All yards within the Highland Park Neighborhood boundaries are eligible to be nominated and to win YOM. A property cannot receive more than one award in the same calendar year.

YOM winners will receive:

• A Highland Park Neighborhood “Yard of the Month” sign placed in their yard for three to four weeks.
• Recognition, with photograph, on the neighborhood website and in the newsletter, space permitting.
• A $25 gift card (for current HPNA members) OR a paid current year HPNA membership (for non-members). December non-member winners will receive a paid membership for the following year.

NOMINATE TWO WAYS

Nominate with the nominee’s address via the website OR snap a photo of the house/yard and email it to hello@highlandparklafayette.com with “YOM Nomination” in the subject line. No address is needed; however, we ask that the photo include both the house and yard so we are able to determine the address ourselves. Thank you for your nomination!

EARN A HIGHLAND PARK MUG

Need an incentive to nominate? Households that submit at least one nomination per month for five out of the seven award months will receive a free “Highland Park Historic Neighborhood” 11 oz. coffee mug! One mug per household per year, please.
