New Trees on the Triangle – Update!

Keith Oak Plant 61716A bur oak tree was planted near the northern point of the Triangle on June 17. This is the sixth tree planted by Tree Lafayette this year. Many thanks go to City Forester Leanne Wells and HPNA President Keith Alyea for planting the oak and to Tree Lafayette for replacing our trees lost to the ash borer. Additional improvements to the Triangle will continue throughout the summer and early fall.

Five trees were planted on the Triangle on May 17. These new trees replace the four dead trees that were removed last fall. HPNA is working on additional improvements to our community greenspace, including turf repair, reconfiguration of the seating arrangement near the Triangle’s northern point, and planting of a sixth new tree. We ask Highland Park neighbors to respect the work of volunteers, Tree Lafayette, contractors, and City employees during this time of planning and transition. Additionally, please do not allow your dogs to relieve themselves on the new trees.
