New Curbs
You may have noticed a work crew installing new curbs near the Highland Avenue entrance over the last week. Yes, it’s really happening! The City is replacing more than 3,300 linear feet of crumbled and non-existent curbs along Highland (partial), Pontiac, and Miami avenues – this includes the Triangle.
HPNA’s Physical Improvements Team has been in touch with the City Engineering Department and the contractor reminding them of the City’s brick street ordinance and our neighborhood’s right-of-way tree planting initiative. We have been assured that they are carefully working around the bricks and trees.

Contact information for the City’s contractor and Lane Restrictions – Highland Ave, Pontiac Ave, and Miami Ave is available here on the city website.
Curb replacement in Highland Park is NOT part of the planned 9th and Kossuth intersection improvement project. That project is slated to start in mid-August, although this is subject to change.
